Alrighty, JP
stuns us with another spectacular addition to the his highly
acclaimed repertoire.
Let's get this show on the road, shall we?
Direction: Some of the best direction in a 3d movie to
date. If not, THE best. JP knows his stuff, and he
doesn't mind flaunting it. Competence is not a question here,
every scene is filmed in a lively, yet dark setting throughout.
Awesome stuff, yup yup! 9/10
Animation: Believe it or not, I think that this is where
Doom 2 is set highest! The quality and subtlety of the animation
is so well done that you rarely notice follies or jumps in the
movement. JP rivals any director's animation with ease, it's
magic! 9.5/10
Music/Sound/Voices: JP has always had good taste in
cinematic music, and this is no exception. While some might not
approve of the 'One Man Army' bit, I think that it proves to
make for one of the most enjoyable scenes in 3dmm history! Sound
effects were very well done, most exceptional indeed. Only a few
voices were a bit lacking, but seeing as I had a part, I won't
complain 8.5/10
Plot/Story: Well scripted and executed. Some nice twists
here and there, The Awakening I found to be much more pleasing
story wise than it's predecessor. Heh, that's probably because I
could follow this one (Okay.. so it took 2 watches to get the
ENTIRE jist, but what the hey). Good stuff! 8/10
Scenery: The scenery is what gave Doom 1 as well as Doom
2 high animation marks. Brilliant construction, and extremely
fitting for the mood. I believe that JP is the greatest scene
builder this community has yet seen, and, you guessed it, it
shows! 10/10
Enjoyment: If you didn't enjoy this, you must be mentally
insane, or just plain retarded. A great movie with an intriguing
plot to go along with it's amazing visuals. To put it simply, I
loved this movie! A+
OVERALL: Definitely a movie that will go down in 3dmm
history. For those of you who had your doubts when I said that
JP would be this community's future... well, you can put those
doubts to rest. One of the greatest movies ever released, and
I'd say that it's probably #2 on my favorites list. Not quite up
to Bodily Functions, but being a totally different genre, it
gets a little lee-way, heh heh.
9/10
